Phat Status VII

In case you didn't know, as well as being an illustrator, I'm also a huge cinephile, and occasionally do short films in my spare time. And that is the inspiration for this latest Phat Status.

A Christmas Post

I have to confess that I have yet to really grab ahold of the jolly holiday spirit, wrestle it to the ground, and eat it's brains (to gain its knowledge). Obviously my mind is still a little stuck back in Halloween mode. Sure, I've put the lights and Christmas tree up, done my Christmas shopping, and absorbed all the garish pageantry that has been loaded onto this holiday, but it just hasn't clicked for me yet. I'm going to do something about it here and now, though, or I'm afraid the whole season will pass me by. So I'm posting some Christmas images. Some are from a book I illustrated called "The Lonely Christmas Tree" that I meant to post on hear a year ago, but never got around to it. Next is an old cover I did for a book about the Advent, followed by a rejected set of characters about the first Christmas. The image of the caribou is a design that I made for a 4'x5' speed painting that two friends and I did at the company Christmas party this year. Here's hoping that, like the lonely Christmas tree, I find the holiday spirit before the season is over. Happy Christmas everyone!

Phat Status V & VI

Since I forgot to post part five on it's own, I just decided to post these two together. Not much more to say about them at this point, as I think they speak for themselves. Enjoy!

Phat Status III

Okay, so now these web comics are just flowing out of me apparently. I've got ideas for about 3 more at this point, so maybe there's a bit of life in this idea after all. This was inspired by my time at an open art market a few months ago. While there was never actually an obnoxious cat-lover with back fat yelling at me, there was a woman at the table next to me with crocheted mammy doorstops who got a lot more foot traffic than me. And my cat poster did elicit more shock than I would have expected. More to come. Click for parts 1 and 2

Phat Status II

Okay, so I guess this is now officially a series. Here are the continuing adventures of a grown geek and his struggle against cool.
